FURIA Esports exits Rainbow Six Siege

FURIA Esports' founder Jaime Pádua has today announced on Twitter the team's departure from the Rainbow Six Siege esports competitive scene.

In Jaime's TwitLonger, he talks about the reasons behind FURIA Esports' decision. According to him, the team looks to invest in video games that "produce adrenaline", have a "healthy connection between the publisher and the organizations", and have an "ecosystem around the game".

Moreover, Jaime explained that "the athletes are still linked to FURIA Esports until we find a new organization that can support this promising team."

While FURIA Esports are leaving the Rainbow Six Siege scene, Jaime admitted the Brazilian esports is not closing the door to a return. "This doesn't mean that we're saying we will never return to the game, as we are always open to revising our decisions."

FURIA Esports was one of the most consistent rosters this season, with the Brazilians qualifying for the initial two Six Majors of the year -- Charlotte and Berlin. In the latter, the panthers reached the quarter-finals, where they lost against FaZe Clan.

Unluckily for the team, after missing out on the Six Jönköping Major, the lineup dropped from the Global Standings' Top 16. Before that, the Brazilians had qualified for every post-pandemic international event, including the Six Invitational 2021 and the Six Invitational 2022.

In January, FURIA Esports announced the signing of Eduardo "KDS" Chiste just before the LATAM SI 2023 Closed Qualifier, where the team lost against LOS oNe in the grand-final.

Now, all eyes are focused on what the players will do, as FURIA Esports had some of the youngest and more exciting talents in the region, including Diogo "Fntzy" Lima and Thiago "handy" Sá.
