Oxygen defeat BDS 2-0, secure one NA representative in grand finals

Oxygen defeated BDS in a barnburner.

With Oxygen's 2-0 victory over BDS, a North American team is guaranteed to have a spot in the grand finals of the Charlotte Major. Oxygen advances to take on the winner of the Astralis v XSET match, which will take place directly after this map's conclusion. NA are the reigning Six Invitational champions thanks to TSM FTX's run, and might enter the next Major as the reigning champions yet again.

Ethan "Nuers" James notched a 4-0 Entry record on Oxygen's opening half to set Oxygen up well with a 3-3 Skyscraper defensive side. Oxygen and BDS would battle back and forth across the map, but Oxygen would eventually win the game in overtime, 8-6. Curiously, Oxygen would then proceed to mostly lose the entry battle over the course of the match.

Oregon was similarly hotly contested. The back and forth game ended up in overtime, again, off hero plays from Olivier "Renshiro" Vandroux -- but Oxygen prevailed in a similar scoreline -- 8-7.

For BDS, the exit is yet another Major where they make the playoffs phase with relative ease, but fail to secure a finals berth, much less win. As one of Europe's best teams over the past two years, they're expected to compete for titles, even in down seasons.

BDS exists in a strange spot. Amidst the clear finalist favorites and the teams who are clearly going out in groups, they are somewhere in the middle.

For Oxygen, they finally advance to the semifinals, where they'll face the winner of Astralis v XSET.
