Three OverKnight players test positive for COVID-19, next Campeonato Mexicano play day moved online

The final two play days next week may also be affected.

Following three OverKnight players testing positive for COVID-19, the Campeonato Mexicano play day on Sept. 26, tomorrow, will be moved online. The Mexican championship is usually played on LAN instead.

All three OverKnight players affected have shown no symptoms so far, and are currently fit to play out the remainder of the stage online. The team was also not present at the LAN venue today, Sept. 25, as it did not have a match scheduled.

It is currently unclear who the three affected players are, but a statement from OverKnight stated that they have been isolated in their respective rooms and that the remaining players were moved to another hotel entirely.

Pending tests for the other teams and sanitation measures, next week's play days on Oct. 2 and 3 may also be moved online.

The Campeonato Mexicano has three play days left this stage, and already has both Atheris Esports and Fenix Esports locked in for the Copa Elite Six next month. OverKnight itself is in third place with 23 points, but its 12 point gap to Fenix in second means it will only be able to attend the Copa Mexico.
