DarkZero and XSET qualify for Six Invitational 2023

Parabellum going to overtime has sent two teams to February's world championship.

The Parabellum vs beastcoast match going to overtime has locked both DarkZero Esports and XSET into a top-eight finish in the NAL in Stage 3.

That and other results have secured XSET an additional 115 SI Points and DarkZero an additional 22 5SI Points, which means that they are guaranteed a top-16 finish in the Global Standings and a place at the Six Invitational 2023.

With these additional points, XSET now have 960, while DarkZero have 1050. This comes after XSET finished both the last two Six Majors in the playoffs, while DZ won the Charlotte Major.

These two will now join Astralis, Oxygen Esports, and w7m esports at the 2023 Six Invitational.

For XSET, this is a massive change in prospects for the organization, which was relegated from the North American League at the end of the 2021 season. Since then, they picked up a new Brazilian-majority roster which included two rookie players and is now one of the first teams to qualify for the 2023 world championship. The gamble has seemingly paid off.

Moreso than anyone else, this is a win for Matheus "Budega" Figueiredo, a Brazilian coach who was trusted with making this new XSET lineup to bring NA to the top again -- a claim that was widely mocked at the time.

For DarkZero, this is the 10th global event they've qualified for out of the last 11, having only missed out on the Berlin Major since the beginning of 2019.

DZ's Troy "Canadian" Jaroslawski will also seek to make Siege history at SI 2023, as a third Caber lift will see him overtake Fabian, Pengu, Goga, Joonas, and Bosco, who have won it twice each. His prior titles came in 2017 and 2020, so if the trend holds, he's due for another win in 2023.

Both these teams have missed out on the Six Major so will have four months and a transfer window to prepare for the next world championship.
