Global Standings - Who can still qualify for the Six Invitational 2024?

As we head to the Phase 2 of the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta, five teams are still in the race to qualify for the Six Invitational 2024. However, there are only three tickets left. Who will grab them?

Global Standings - Before Phase 2

If the Major was to end after Phase 1, SANDBOX Gaming, MNM Gaming, and Bleed Esports would be the three sides traveling to Brazil, leaving Team BDS and LOS behind.

Heading to Phase 2, SANDBOX Gaming and MNM Gaming have no chance of adding more SI Points to their respective tallies. This means that they can now only wait and see if the results by Bleed Esports, Team BDS, and LOS aren't enough.

Let's have a look at what should happen for SANDBOX Gaming to miss out on a Top 20 finish.

SANDBOX Gaming (350 SI Points)

SANDBOX Gaming's SI Points tally is 350. As MNM Gaming didn't qualify for the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta, the Europeans are the only team with no chance to overtake the South Koreans.

If the following situations happened, SANDBOX Gaming would miss out on the Six Invitational 2024.

• Bleed Esports: A Top 12 finish (2 wins) in the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta Phase 2 would give the SEA roster an extra 30 SI Points. With 350 SI Points, they would overtake the South Koreans due to tiebreaker rules*.

*2.4.3.3. Total Major Points

If head-to-head was not able to resolve all ties, then the total Major points (the sum of the points obtained by a Team at the current season’s Majors) will be calculated for each Team. The Team with the highest total Major points wins the tie.

With SANDBOX Gaming securing 55 SI Points in Copenhagen and 35 SI Points in Atlanta, the South Koreans have obtained 90 SI Points in Majors. A hypothetical Top 12 finish for Bleed Esports would see them grabbing 105 SI Points in Atlanta alone.

• Team BDS: A Top 4 finish (4 wins) in the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta Phase 2 would give the Europeans an extra 125 SI Points. With 405 SI Points, the Frenchmen would overtake the South Koreans.
• LOS: If what we stated above happened, a quarterfinal appearance wouldn't be enough for the Brazilians to overtake the South Koreans. They should qualify for Phase 3 and win their first BO3 series.

Although it's not impossible, it's unlikely that we see the South Koreans missing out on the Six Invitational 2024.

It's now the turn of the marshmallows, who are on the verge of falling off the Top 20.

MNM Gaming (320 SI Points)

MNM Gaming's SI Points tally is 320. As we stated above, the Europeans can't add any more SI Points, hence why their position is so delicate.

If two of the following results happened, MNM Gaming would miss out on the Six Invitational 2024.

• Bleed Esports: A Top 14 finish (1 win) in the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta Phase 2 would give the SEA roster an extra 10 SI Points. With 330 SI Points, Bleed Esports would overtake the Europeans.
• Team BDS: A Top 8 finish (3 wins) in the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta Phase 2 would give the Europeans an extra 65 SI Points. With 345 SI Points, the Frenchmen would overtake the Europeans.
• LOS: A Top 8 finish (3 wins) in the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta Phase 2 would give the Brazilians an extra 65 SI Points. With 325 SI Points, the Brazilians would overtake MNM Gaming.

Now, let's have a look at the teams who are still alive in Atlanta, starting with Bleed Esports.

Bleed Esports (320 SI Points)

Bleed Esports' first match in the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta will be against M80. The SEA roster will have at least three games to get one victory, which would increase their chances of qualifying for the Six Invitational 2024.

If Bleed Esports ended the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta Phase 2 with a record of 0-3, here's what the team would need to qualify for Brazil:

• Team BDS to get no more than two wins in Phase 2. Two wins and three defeats for the Frenchmen would put them with 310 SI Points on the standings. If they made it to the quarterfinals, the Europeans would overtake Bleed Esports with 345 SI Points.
• LOS to get no more than two wins in Phase 2. Two wins and three defeats for the Brazilians would put them with 290 SI Points. If they made it to the quarterfinals, the Brazilians would overtake Bleed Esports with 325 SI Points.

If Bleed Esports ended the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta Phase 2 with a record of 1-3, the team would go back home with 330 SI Points. They would need one of the next two to happen to qualify for the Six Invitational 2024.

• Team BDS to get no more than two wins in Phase 2. Two wins and three defeats for the Frenchmen would put them with 310 SI Points on the standings. If they made it to the quarterfinals, the Europeans would overtake Bleed Esports with 345 SI Points.
• LOS to not qualify for the semifinals of the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta. If the Brazilians made it to the Top 4, they would climb up the standings with 385 SI Points.

If Bleed Esports ended the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta Phase 3 with a record of 2-3, the team would go back home with 350 SI Points. Keep in mind that, in such a context, Bleed Esports would overtake SANDBOX Gaming.

Regardless of what happened next, due to Bleed Esports having 105 SI Major Points (vs. SANDBOX's 90), and with only two teams capable of overtaking the SEA roster, Bleed Esports would qualify for the Six Invitational 2024.

Team BDS (280 SI Points)

Team BDS's debut in the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta will come tomorrow against Spacestation Gaming. The Frenchmen need to qualify for the quarterfinals, otherwise, their chance of qualifying for the Six Invitational 2024 is zero.

If they qualified for Phase 3 and the team lost in the quarterfinals, the Europeans would go from 280 SI Points to 345 SI Points, which meant they would also overtake MNM Gaming in the process.

In that case, Team BDS would need one of the next two situations to not happen.

• Bleed Esports to not win two matches in Phase 2. If that happened, Bleed Esports would have 350 SI Points.
• LOS to not reach Atlanta's semifinals. If the Brazilians qualified for Phase 3 but were eliminated in the quarterfinals, they would have 325 SI Points. Meanwhile, a Top 4 finish would see the orange roster skyrocketing to 385 SI Points.

If Team BDS qualified for Atlanta's semifinals, the Frenchmen would also qualify for the Six Invitational 2024.

LOS (260 SI Points)

LOS' situation on the Global Standings is similar to Team BDS' position. The Brazilians must reach Phase 3, otherwise, they won't have a chance to qualify for the Six Invitational 2024.

If the Brazilians qualified for the quarterfinals, they would have 325 SI Points. In the process, they would overtake MNM Gaming (320 SI Points). This means that they could be overtaken by Team BDS or Bleed Esports -- but not by both.

Here's what should happen so LOS' hypothetical Top 8 finish in Atlanta was enough to qualify for the Six Invitational 2024.

• Bleed Esports to go 0-3 in Phase 2. One single win for the Asian roster would put them with 330 SI Points...
• ... or Team BDS to not qualify for the BLAST R6 Major Atlanta Phase 3. If the Frenchmen reach the quarterfinals, they would have 345 SI Points.

If LOS reached the semifinals, the Brazilians would automatically qualify for the Six Invitational 2024.
