Six Invitational 2024 Day 3 Key Takeaways: European domination, South Asia breaks the trend

Here are our key takeaways following the conclusion of the third day of action at the Six Invitational 2024.

European domination

Out of Brazil, Europe, and North America, the old continent is the region with the fewer teams at the Six Invitational 2024 with three. Despite the lack of representation in São Paulo, Europe has done well so far — as we head to the fourth day of action, all G2 Esports, Wolves Esports, and Virtus.pro are leading their respective groups.

G2 Esports has been the most dominant side in Brazil as they currently have a round difference of 42-21 (+21) after having won flawlessly against FearX, Geekay Esports, and Ninjas in Pyjamas. Additionally, the Six Invitational 2023 champions have been especially good at defending with a defensive win rate of 81,25%.

In Group B, Wolves Esports currently lead the standings after victories against Spacestation Gaming (2-1), Team Bliss (2-0), and DPlus (2-0). Individually, the team has been great as we chose Yanis "Mowwwgli" Dahmani and Jimmy "DEADSHT" Vojtasik as the best players for Day 1 and Day 2, respectively.

Finally, Virtus.Pro currently lead the standings in Group C with one 2-0 victory against M80, a 2-1 win against w7m esports, and a 1-2 loss against Team Liquid.

Soniqs and Spacestation lead North America's hopes in Brazil

Jack "J9O" Burkard and Ben "CTZN" McMillan led Spacestation Gaming and Soniqs, respectively, as both rosters have already secured a spot at the Six Invitational 2024 playoffs.

While Soniqs currently sit at the top of their group, Spacestation Gaming head to the fourth day of action in second place. Meanwhile, DarkZero Esports and M80 sit in second and fifth, respectively.

Overall, the North American region seems to be slightly behind Europe at the Six Invitational 2024. However, the teams have pulled off some great performances, especially Spacestation Gaming. Additionally, Jaylen "Ambi" Turk's adaptation to Soniqs has been outstanding considering the short amount of time he has had to understand the needs of the team. 

South Asian rosters keep breaking the trend

Yesterday, we saw Bleed Esports winning one map against w7m esports and FURY getting a 2-1 victory against Team Falcons. Today got even better for South Asia.

The orange roster began the day for South Asia with a crucial 2-1 win over SCARZ. After surviving Skyscraper (8-7), a one-sided loss on Nighthaven Labs (1-7) was followed by a close victory on Chalet (7-5). With this result, the Thai squad is headed to the fourth day of action in second place with six points.

However, the big upset came from Bleed Esports. The red and black roster pushed Team Liquid to the third map of the series after winning in maximum overtime on Oregon. A perfect defensive half from Bleed Esports saw the roster completing the comeback and will sleep in third place of Group C.

Meanwhile, the rest of the teams from APAC have been underwhelming. All FearX, DPlus, and Team Bliss are at the bottom of their respective groups with zero points. SCARZ is the only exception, as the Japanese side collected a point on Day 2.
